VAZU is an environmentally preferred product compared to a traditional glass vase, due to a far lower full lifecycle impact on the environment and human health (in terms of energy and natu vazu™Theral resource usage, as well as carbon emissions).

Materials:
The vazu™ material (thin layers of polyethylene and polyester) takes much less energy to produce than glass.  Common glass has a melting point temperature of 2700 degrees (F), and a working point temperature of 2000 degrees (F).  Polyethylene has a melting point of 220-260 degrees (F) and polyester has a melting point of 490 degrees (F). *Figures from Wikipedia May 29, 2008
Further, much of the common glass used today is manufactured in developing countries with limited environmental law standards and enforcement.  The vazu™ is manufactured in a country known for strong and enforced environmental standards.

Transportation, Storage & Reuse:
Since the vazu™ is stored completely flat, approximately 50-200 vazu™ (depending on model) occupy the same space as just one similar-sized glass vase in transit, thus the vazu™ uses a fraction of fuel oils in transport and distribution. vazu™ also requires much lessroom to store at retail, at home or in the office.  The vazu™ is manufactured with high quality materials which are not breakable like glass, and the vazu™ is designed to be reused over and over.
